Innovation in the focus of ERDF funding
In the “Bio-FML” project, the project partners, under the leadership of the Fraunhofer IPT, are developing a production technology for manufacturing a sustainable fibre-metal laminate (FML), which consists of 100% recyclable and partly biological source materials. For this purpose, a new consolidation system is being developed that will replace expensive impregnation presses and thus reduce machine complexity and production costs. The aim of the project is to use the hybrid material to make a positive contribution to overcoming the current disposal and recycling problem.
This project is funded by the European Union and the state of North Rhine-Westphalia.
